Carmen Janine May-Lynn Houle was born on March 12, 1984, in Williams Lake, British Columbia, and passed away on March 6 2024, in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the age of 39. Carmen will be remembered most for her fierce loyalty, love and support for her family and friends. She was always loud, unfiltered and fearless. Her intense love and compassion extended to animals, especially pitbulls so much to the point she called herself pitbull princess. Carmen's fearlessness and love for dogs was shown in great light when her friend's dog Matrix was injured by a police officer. Matrix was shot in the head and Carmen didn't hesitate to scream in the face of that officer for his egregious actions and fought hard to gain justice for her friend. Carmen was stubborn at times and liked to push people's buttons especially when she felt she had been wronged... one time she went to a tim hortons with her friend and had come out with her arms full of goodies and drinks when she slipped on the ice and fell on her butt she had managed to save all the items from falling on the ground but she proceeded to get up go back into the store and make them give her all new stuff while chewing them out... when she got back into the truck she started laughing and said "f*ckrs". When Carmen was about 3 or 4 she made two friends and they spent many years growing up together becoming the best of friends where they would play at a local park and pretend they were a part of a musical group singing New Kids on The Block on the big toys and getting into trouble and though life has put them at all different places they have maintained the friendship to her last days. When Carmen was a baby my mom and aunt didn't have a stroller for her so they carried in a duffle bag and she slept the whole walk... she was able to adapt to her surroundings and make the best of what she had and now it is our turn to make the best of the memories we have to remember her as the beautiful, loud and unapologetic person she was and to be as loving and compassionate as she was. Carmen is predeceased by her aunt Joey, her sister Nissa Speken, her niece October Koechl, and her cousins Pamela and Jennifer Dennis and is survived by her mother Ann, children Chikotah and Therren, siblings Santana, Alysa, Krystal, Kiera, nieces/nephews Peyton, Scottie, Damien and Vivian, grandchildren Savannah, Johnathon, Ava, Nathaniel and Johnathan, and many loving family and friends. Carmen was a great light in this world. The loss of her life has had an astounding impact on everyone who got the chance to know her and she will be missed immensely.
