It is with deep sadness that our family wishes to notify our community of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend Catharine (Cathy) Agnes Isabel Mulder passing on Thursday, July 10th, 2025. This marks the conclusion to her year and a half long tremendously courageous battle against ovarian cancer. She passed away at the age of 69 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Cathy leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Nick Mulder, two children Dana and Carl Mulder, and two grandchildren Sadie and Ashton.
On July 9th, the day before she passed away, Cathy, Nick and Dana sat outside in the sunshine together and received a facetime from Carl and Angela, introducing them to their healthy and absolutely beautiful new son, Ashton. Cathy beamed as she got to see his sweet little face and the image of Carl as a new father. A proud mother and grandmother, she always reminded her family how deeply loved they all are.
Early the next morning, holding the hands of her care team, Cathy passed away quickly and peacefully, just moments after telling them about her new grandson with perfect clarity. We believe she held on as long as she could to see his safe arrival into the world and then gave herself permission to rest.
A Celebration of life to commemorate Cathy's life will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Mountain View Cemetery Celebration Hall, 5455 Fraser Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. The family sincerely thanks you for sharing their loss in remembrance of their beloved wife and mother. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated and will always be remembered.
