We met a few times at Tribe in Franklin TN. The first time in 2017 was at a restaurant where he could not guess my age. I told him I was old enough to be his mother. In fact one of my sons was born in January 1982. I ache for all of you who had the sacred privilege to know Craig well. He was a light in my life whenever I saw him at Tribe and in our brief interactions through The Morning Effect blog and beta course. So, so sorry that in his giving, he spent himself. May his life remind us to pour love into others, especially the ones who give so much.

I met Craig at the World Domination Summit back in 2017. July 14, 2017 to be exact. I know this because I have a photo of him sitting in an academy I was hosting on that day.

As I was getting coffee before the workshop got underway, he came up to me and introduced himself. We talked about our part of the world and we talked about productivity. We ended up going to several events over the next couple of years, crossing paths at times in between them as well.

I was in Vancouver recently and passed by Meet, a restaurant where we had lunch together a little over a year ago. Craig was telling me about his thoughts on changing the name of his blog, he gave me some tea, and we ate vegetarian burgers. It was awesome.

The photo I’m sharing is from the last meal we shared together. I came over to Vancouver when a friend from Austin was in town and worked with some locals to organize a group dinner. I invited Craig and was happy that he came. I was always happy when I had a chance to hang out with Craig.

I wish I had spent more time with Craig in the short time we knew each other. Whenever we talked I always left each conversation better than I was before. Craig just had a way about him. He was special.

As everyone has mentioned, Craig was uniquely warm, attentive, creative and curious. And because of this so many people loved him dearly. I met Craig about a decade ago, and one of the first times I remember thinking “This guy is seriously awesome” was when we took to the dance floor at a tournament party - doing the polka. Our prairie roots connected and he whirled me about as we laughed and laughed. His curling birthday party was another moment - I will never forget his flowing white robes as he slid down the ice dressed as a handsome pope. I arrived dressed like Craig: checkered shirt and backwards cap. He laughed and said I looked like an ice road trucker. And then again, when I was inducted into the hall of fame by Utimate Canada he was charged with bringing a disc with my photo on it from Ottawa to Vancouver. Most of us would have just packed it in our luggage. Craig instead took photos of my disc travelling through Canada, and posted witty comments with each one on Facebook. Example: he took ”me” to parliament and took a photo of my disc at the media scrum, pretending they were clambering for a story on this frisbee player. He just had a way of making simple things fun.

Craig looked at life’s moments with a curious and delightful eye, and we were the lucky recipients. I will miss him a great deal.

Craig was such a kind person and always seemed so joyful. It was fun to see how excited he was to share his new ideas and to find ways to help the people around him. I always looked forward to seeing him at WDS and I’m so thankful that I got to have some time with him this year. He will be sorely missed.

Craig and I met in person at WDS in 2017, but we really met before that. Both first time attendees, we decided to video conference about our passion projects prior to the event. By the end of the call, we were both really excited to now know someone going into the conference.

I made my first WDS friend during that call, before I even attended. It empowered my experience there. And so much better that it was someone as enthusiastic as Craig. That conversation changed the way I saw relationships at WDS, and how I approached every newbie in the years following.

He and I stayed in touch, checking in regularly to see how our various ventures were going. He was one of the first people I'd look for every year at the conference. I'm heartbroken that he's gone, and so in awe of the impact he has had on the world. Craig, you were one of a kind my friend, and I will miss you dearly.

We are the lucky ones. We are fortunate that Craig has enriched and brightened each of our lives. I will remember his warmth, his caring, his creativity, his humour, and his phenomenal ability to polka. Craig, may you rest in all of our hearts.

Craig could make an Uber driver's day by simply asking them about their day. We shared a room at Tribe conference after he awarded me with a premium ticket to the Nashville event.

I was a beta tester for his blog, and I was happy to help him edit copy. It was such an honor to be asked, because he was my role model.

The first time I met Craig I was blown away by his WDS meetup on morning routines. He once had a conversation with Tim Ferriss!

I admit I was hurt the last time I saw Craig. He seemed oddly aloof, and I took it as snobbish behavior. I know now he was probably feeling low and not like himself. I had no idea he was in such pain.

I looked up to Craig for his discipline and personality. I remember when I would make racy jokes and he'd laugh. I can't believe he's gone. I wish I could have helped him.

I met Craig at world domination summit. We were waiting in line to get into the theater to see the mainstage speakers. I asked him if he had ever done extreme sports or adventures and he told me about a time when he went riding an ATV in the sand dunes, and it turned out to be terrifying. Here's the video of our conversation.

I met Craig in the summer of 2018 when he generously offered me a ride to a meditation retreat out in Squamish, which turned out to be his first longer one. Anyone who has been on retreat knows that there is often a deep sharing of life happening right before slipping into silence and even more so when coming out.

I fell in love with Craig's beautiful soul as soon as I sat foot into his car.. literally! Good thing he was partnered up and with a guy, too, and I did not have to obsess about my initial attraction for the next ten days in silence! Craig was full of energy and joy. He bubbled of projects, ideas, and dreams. I admired his initiatives, and we had lots to exchange about morning routines, me being a yogi and all. We similarly journeyed back at the end of the retreat.

It was an absolute honour to sit with him and to witness the unfolding of his experience during the retreat and after. Being in silence for an extended period of time and coming out of it together can create a deep sense of intimacy. I was very grateful to share this particular time coming out of retreat with Craig. He had a unique way of challenging perceptions and was full of curiosity and eager to grow further in his understanding of the practices we shared. He also showed great support, sensitivity, and insight towards my experience after the retreat as well as later during the year.

I cannot even begin to imagine the immensity of the loss his passing must have caused you, dear loved ones of Craig. My heart goes out to you, without knowing you personally, and I wish you strength and courage for this difficult time, as well as the compassion and kindness to allow yourself to fall apart when needed. Please know that we are all here to hold you, from far and close. May you rest in peace, Craig. We will miss you dearly.

Craig held a meetup at the first WDS that I attended about how to maximize your morning routines. I felt like I was in the right place at the right time for the perfect teacher to appear. I was moving to a new town after WDS and I knew that dialing in my morning routine was going to be key to my success. The framework that Craig shared was so helpful. During the next 6 months I lost 30 and within the the next year I became a certified health coach and moved to Portland (home of WDS) All the while I kept up with Craig through his newsletter (I always read his!!!) and even won a call with him and was able to share how my life had changed forever thanks to his tips. I will always have him to thank for that. You will be missed Craig!

Adding a second photo of Tim Ferriss with Craig

I met Craig in person when he bought an extra ticket to the Washington DC, Tim Ferriss, Tools of Titans event, that he just so happened to be in town for. A small group of us stayed at a local bar talking with Tim until 2am.

We had previously met via Facebook regarding our respective cities Tools of Titans groups and discussing ways to increase group engagement.

Craig was highly invested in helping others live their best lives.

I am broken to hear this news and my hearts is with his family and friends in Canada. He certainly made a positive impact on this bloke, south of the border.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Corrine and family. I was a childhood friend of Craig. Memories of playing hockey, basketball, and jumping on the trampoline in the back yard. Craig always had a smile on his face, and was always including us young ones in the game even when we had no clue how to play. Craig will always be remembered as friend to us all on Claymore. RIP Friend.

I don't know where to start, and I certainly don't know where to end when it comes to memories of Craig Kulyk. I never knew him as a friend; we never hung out the two of us except as part of the ultimate community, together at events (at BC Place or his Whistler series), or VUL workshops, or on the side of Trillium field in the rain.

And yet he made me feel as though we were friends, that I was part of his large circle -- I never doubted he cared about me. Even in as welcoming a community (that he helped build) as is the world of ultimate, his inner love stood out and his outer energy made an enormous impact on people around him.

I learned something from him every time we met -- he was a tremendous source of creativity and of productivity and of curiosity. I loved his devotion to the sport, and his attention to detail. He was in his element when he had a mic in his hand, whether telling a kind-hearted joke or repeating yet again an admonition for captains at the annual super clinic day. He took special care of his volunteer crew and they gave their all for him.

I have to mention his party ball pit; I carry scars of it even today and yet it was the most creative fun addition to an ultimate party I can recall.

Most of all, I think, will I miss his sense of humor; he made the world fun and shared the basic joy he created with everyone equally. I think that's the deep paradox in this tragic situation; that what I learned most and value most and remember most about Craig's spirit, things that in fact supported me at difficult times, are perhaps things that failed to support him at a critical moment.

John Donne wrote "Any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind."

We mourn Craig's passing, because with his absence, humankind is truly diminished.

I met Craig at a World Domination Summit Conference. We used to call each other and chat about our businesses. Craig was often telling me about Joel, his partner and the out of town adventures they were having. I remember Craig was taking an online course and asked us to write a comment on facebook of how we see him. This is what I wrote: " You're a connector plus you're extremely nice. Whenever we talk, we laugh.. It's relaxing to hang out with you. You do thorough research and are constantly learning. Curious mind. "
This picture is from a closing party at a conference. We laughed all night long...

Before he left for Korea, Craig came to visit me (aka his cousin Sue) in New York City and check out the sights and sounds of the city. I invited him out for lunch near Wall Street and in classic Craig style, he showed up in shorts, backwards baseball cap and no shirt (it was August after all). The next day we ventured down to Philadelphia and Washington DC for a visit. We ran up the “Rocky” steps, visited the White House and even saw the Canadian embassy. Needless to say, Craig was a unique soul and had a tremendous spirit. I will always hold those times and his spirit close to my heart.

I knew Craig from my time in Korea. He was passionate about ultimate but also an incredibly curious and compassionate person. In a short amount of time we were talking like old friends. His rare spirit invited so many people from different walks of life to connect so easily to him. While we haven't connected often, he has never been far from my thoughts. I'll miss ya.

I connected with Craig at WDS in June and he gave me the most unique business card I’ve ever received—a bag of tea! I’ve been carrying this bag with me and will continue to keep it as a reminder to live in the moment and hold those we love and meet close to our hearts. Craig has such a bright smile and gentle spirit. I am grateful to have met him and to have a piece of him with me which I will continue to carry in my travels all over the world.

I always looked forward to seeing Craig at VUL events. He always reached out to see how I was doing and made sure I had my vegan food option. It was a small act of caring and it was part of his job, but it meant a lot and I could see he genuinely liked to take care of others. I only realize now we weren't officially friends, I was just a member of VUL so really I was more like his client, but he reached out like a friend and that's how I think of him. I will miss him at every VUL event.

I remember the first time I met Craig when I came to visit Joel for the first time in Vancouver. It took about 30 minutes for me to realize they were the perfect fit. Craig was a great host even though he was caught up planning a huge ultimate frisbee party. I wasn’t fond of large parties but he somehow convinced me to join. I remember how concerned he was about his balls... that is to say, the huge order of balls he made for a giant ball pit aimed at being the centre of the party. It went off without a hitch and the ball pit was easily the most memorable part of my trip - people jumping wildly in while catching frisbees - seriously rad dude. I’m so happy I got to see you this summer and spend some time together - you’re loved and missed by many. You’ve left a mark on all of us.
