April 27, 1947 - December 27, 2023
Randy was born in Calgary, Alberta and raised by his mother Maxine Falkner (1918-2018) with his two younger sisters, Judy and Patty.
Randy lived an extraordinary life. He was full of love and curiosity. He enjoyed deep philosophical discussions over coffee, good food or beers. Generous and welcoming, Randy avidly spoke of the interesting people he met through his career and endless interests such as painting, sculpting, Zumba dancing, motorcycle touring, choir singing, sailing, political and community activism, rebuilding his 1936 Rolls Royce, collecting rare history books, and studying world history. Randy was wonderfully eclectic and approached his passions and friendships with devotion.
Randy was an exceptional storyteller and conversationalist. He shared his life adventures and learnings in narratives that both captivated and entertained people. He could talk about anything and fix nearly everything and he took pleasure in sharing his knowledge. He had a profound impact on his friends, family and coworkers, more than he likely ever knew.
His love for flying led to a career as a pilot which took him to near and far away places including the Arctic and Africa. Later in life, Randy found happiness through travel and adventures on Tamara, his beloved sailboat. He went on many sailing trips with his dear friend Elena and enjoyed taking friends and family on local excursions.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Krista (Troy) and Sara (Michael) and his grandchildren Cameron and Madeline. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
A celebration of Randy's life will be held January 19, 2024. For further information or to attend this gathering, please call Sara 604-202-4716.
