Elaine Frances Gelineau

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elaine Frances Gelineau (nee Galley) on November 2nd, 2022. Daughter of Frank and Gladys Galley and older sister to brothers Robert and Brian Galley (deceased).

Elaine was born August 12, 1946 in Fort William, Ontario. The family moved to Yarrow, BC. Elaine married Robert (Bob) Gelineau and raised three children. Elaine is survived by daughter Wendy Gelineau, son Steven Gelineau, his wife Kaori, two beautiful grandchildren Max and Emi Gelineau and her youngest son Christopher Gelineau.

Elaine and Bob owned and operated the Hideaway Cafe in Matsqui, BC in the 70’s and Elaine’s Hideaway cafe in Abbotsford, BC in the early 80’s.

In the 90’s Elaine went back to school and received her hairdresser license and worked for many years at Bernard’s Barber Shop in Abbotsford, BC.

Elaine also worked preparing meals at the Salvation Army in Abbotsford.

In lieu of a service, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
