Florence Amy (Edge) Metzger

It is with great sadness that we announce Florence’s passing. She was a beloved sister to Dorothy, Auntie to Karen and Doug, dear childhood friend of Isobel Thompson, and “Aunt” to Diana. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 2011.

Florence was born in Matsqui, British Columbia and grew up in Mt Lehman. After high school, she worked for the Royal Bank for six years and then she headed to Vancouver Bible School and then Millar Memorial Bible Institute in Saskatchewan.

In 1956, Florence joined Bible Testimony Fellowship in Vancouver and she continued with the ministry until 2011. She attended St. Columba Presbyterian church and has many dear church friends.

Florence loved to go for walks, tending her flower garden, church activities, and visits with friends and family. A favourite pastime was tea and a walk with Karen Sunday afternoons and she loved spending time with Doug, touring the city and exploring trails near the Fraser River.

In 2016, Florence moved into Royal Arch Masonic Home. Much gratitude goes to the awesome staff at Royal Arch, who cared for Auntie Florence like a family member.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Arch Masonic Homes Funding Society.

Florence will be dearly missed.
