Rankine, Dr. Frederick Charles of Vancouver, B.C. Born March 25, 1932 in Edmonton, Alberta, passed away in his sleep at age 86, April 12, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Daryl Caroline Rankine and sons David (Katherine), Graham (Linda), and grandchildren Ian and Colin. His initial career of 11 ½ years was with the RCMP working in various detachments in BC. He now returned to university where he obtained his B.Ed., Masters and Doctorate of Education. This led to a move to Fredericton, New Brunswick for 26 years. Upon retirement in 1994 he returned to the West Coast initially living in Tsawwassen, and then at Tapestry on the UBC Endowment Lands. Fred was always a problem solver. He liked to repair cars, furniture and anything broken he would try to fix. He enjoyed touring by car or camper and did multiple trips throughout North America, and the British Isles. The family would like to thank Tapestry at UBC, and Sunrise of Vancouver for all their support and compassionate care. No service per request. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon.
