

Fung Fun was born on January 3, 1922, in Zhongshan, China. She married Bob Man Lee in 1938 and later immigrated to Vancouver in 1957 to be with her husband. Together, they built a life rooted in hard work, family, and community. She worked in Chinatown and then in Gastown until her retirement in 1987.
Fung Fun found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved knitting and crocheting, tending her garden and flower beds, and playing Mah Jong. She loved preparing traditional Chinese pastries with her granddaughter, especially jin doi (deep-fried sesame balls), which she lovingly shared with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob Man Lee. Fung Fun will be forever cherished by her children Gale (Glenn), Michael and her godson Narciso (Anita). Grandchildren Caitlin, Christopher and god-grandchildren Anna (Todd), Narciso Jr. (Cassandra), Margaret (Greg), and Josey (Jeff). She also leaves behind her great-grand-dog Jager and her god-great-grandchildren Taylor, Tristan, Jonah, Matthew, Kyle, Nolan, Jaden, Jared, and Jacob.
Fung Fun will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare workers who cared for her at Beulah Gardens, Lions Gate Hospital, and Vancouver General Hospital for their compassion and dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation or the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation.
A viewing will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel on June 6, 2026 from 2-4 p.m.. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Fung Fun’s life at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel on June 8, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.. Following the celebration of life, the interment will occur at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m.
