Sound guru, music buff, mentor, inventor & Mr. Coolio, Jerry remains in the hearts of mother Marion, daughter Alexis & her mom Lori, brothers Don & John, Dave & Andy & gal pal Erin. He is reunited with sister Lynn & dad Jim.
Born in Winnipeg, Jerry began his sound career mixing local bands & in gear rentals at Long & McQuade. He was an ace at CKY-TV before moving to Vancouver in 1989 to become key in the film industry, working with top crews & celebs, of special note Ringo Starr. Other highlights were set-ups for the 2010 Olympics & location recording on TV's Gold Rush. He was famous for his wry humour, Jerry-rigged inventions & July riBBQ’s. He loved dad-daughter movie nights & camping with friends. If you forgot something, he’d have it or create it. Jerry’s final dream came true when he retired to his 'nature acreage' on Mayne Island in 2015.
A celebration July 30th (what should have been his 61st birthday) will honour his life & laughter, serenaded by his phenomenal playlist. Thanks to Dr. Kamath, Ravensong home palliative team, Don for tender care, Alexis for loving strength, Ken for Thursday respite, Teresa & Paddy for family meals & Mayne angels Annie & Rita. Shine on Jer, you crazy diamond.
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go
