

It is with great sadness that the Chan family announce the passing of their beloved husband, uncle, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Hung Kwan (Henry) Chan of Vancouver, BC. He peacefully passed away surrounded by his Family on August 24, 2024 at the age of 90 in Vancouver, BC.
Born April 4, 1934 in Mun Village, Tai Shan, Guangdong Province, China. He emigrated to Canada in 1973 where he lived in Windsor, Ontario with his sister, brother-in-law and their children until 1978 when he moved to Vancouver. After settling in Vancouver, his parents, wife and children joined him following their emigration to Canada in 1979.
Predeceased by his parents, Chung Ning Chan and Kwan-Tai Tam of Vancouver, his sister, Sen Lun (Lynn) Jean and her husband, Yet Sun (Kenneth) Jean of Ottawa, Ontario. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 71 years, King Ngor Chan, his children, Sui Hon (Allan Hui), Jon (Angie), Sue (Eddie Tam) and Gordon (Gwen). Adored by his 13 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. Cherished by his brother, Keith (May Ling) and numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in the Chapel from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Glenhaven Memorial located at 1835 East Hastings Street in Vancouver.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10:00 am in the Chapel at Glenhaven Memorial.
Burial to follow at Ocean View Burial Park at 4000 Imperial Street in Burnaby at 12:00 pm. A reception will follow.
The family wishes to thank everyone for all the love and support during this difficult time.
