It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Irene Bolton (nee Baker) who lost her battle with cancer on Saturday March 4, 2017 in North Vancouver, BC. Irene was born to her parents Joseph ‘Joe’ Baker and Ann Nee Brotchie in Vancouver BC on March 21, 1948 and proudly descended from Kwakwaka'wakw and Squamish First Nations. She grew up on Capilano IR #5 waterfront in what was affectionately called the beach huts. She attended Norgate Elementary School, Hamilton Secondary and Eslha7an Learning Centre. She spent many of her teen years in Alert Bay with family. She worked in Canneries, Squamish Nation Home and Community Care and at our favourite teen age hangout RIPPS Diner. Irene can best be remembered for her love of her family and more specifically nieces, nephews, grand children and great grandchildren with whom she could often be found helping and doing homework, doing puzzles or playing games of any sort.
Irene is survived by and will be deeply missed by her sisters Betty Campbell, Gwen Harry, Gloria Thomas, Naida Carol Brown and Diane; brothers Robert ‘Bob’ (Shirley) and Wilfred (Jan); daughter Nadine (Lawrence); son Frank (Autumn); grandchildren Amanda, Rebecca, David, Salvador, Francine; Great Grandchildren Matoska, Nahpeyo, Pisim, Mercedes, Tayanna, Sierra and Emilia and many loving relatives and dear friends.
