I just learned John passed.John worked for my dad several years ago .He stayed in touch with our family many years after. Often visiting with us.He would play the piano for hours.I was about 13 and he was18.I often had to help out on the truck mostly recycling.He was a good worker and a good person.I moved away from Vancouver several year ago but mom would tell John came today and made me tea as she was unwell.She also enjoyed his boys  helping with the garden.He was very kind to my mother and I am grateful for that.He will and is very missed.Could someone please let me know more about his passing.Was it sudden or was he sick.And how is his wife Julie. Thank you ... Sharon

 I always enjoyed seeing John ice skating at the 50 & Better session on Mondays at Kerrisdale. I always joked with him that his tall lanky body reminded me of Jacques Laperriere of the Montreal Canadiens. Very sad for him to be gone so soon.

John will be missed at the Kits Bridge sessions. He handled his bridge directing duties with a calm wry humour and kept us on time.



I did not know John as well as I would have liked. He was my introduction to Kits Bridge. John was a different cat alright and I really appreciated his humour and thoughtful take on the world around him. Yes, he is missed.

John was a true gentleman.  Leading bridge sessions he always accentuated the positive  and was always patient and understanding.

May he rest in peace.

John was a pleasant and helpful person, and he'll be missed.

John's passing breaks my heart, it’s hard to imagine our Kits Bridge Club without him.  John really meant a lot to me and his presence made bridge special every Tuesday and Friday night.  He also surprised me a few years ago when he showed up at Kits ice skating where we would chat together while skating - he told me he was taking line dance lessons and has done yoga.  John will be missed and he will always be remembered.
