

John Adrian Ursulescu, aged 93, passed away on May 14, 2026. Born on February 25, 1933, in Vancouver, British Columbia, John’s life remained closely tied to the place where it began, and he will be remembered with deep respect by all who knew him.
John worked on the water for much of his life, spending 20 years as a marine worker, following earlier years on tug boats as a deckhand engineer. His steady commitment to his work reflected a practical skill and quiet reliability that earned the regard of those alongside whom he served.
Family was central to John’s life. John shared a lasting partnership with his wife, B Doreen, together since 1963. He is also survived by his son, Bill (Fay) Steffensen of Calgary, Canada, and his stepdaughter, Donna of Lillooet, BC, Canada. Brother of the late Stephen, late Albert, and sister Eva.
John found enduring enjoyment in the outdoors, with a particular passion for hunting and fishing—pursuits that spoke to his appreciation for nature and the steady patience they require. He was also a long-time member of a rifle club, a commitment that reflected both discipline and camaraderie.
John will be remembered for a life shaped by dedication, constancy, and the quiet strength of someone who valued work well done, time spent outdoors, and the bonds of family.
