By her son Wesley (Sheri), granddaughter Mandie Dear (Evan), grandson Keaton Campbell, by her son Jeffrey (Shawn), grandson Jack and granddaughter Maggie. Nieces Nancy, Janice, Debbie and Becky and nephews Tom and Dan in Canada and the USA.

Joy worked after high school for Hamilton Hydro, Eatons of Canada and was an alumnus of Canadian Nazarene College, Red Deer, Alberta. She married Wes in 1960 and they together pastored in several churches in the Church of the Nazarene at Windsor, Ont., Toronto, Ont. and Vancouver, BC.

She was an accomplished pianist and had travelled with singing groups and choirs as a college student. While serving the congregation of Vancouver Church of the Nazarene, she developed a significant ministry to women. Having moved to Richmond in 1991, she completed a diploma in family counselling and was a member of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies. Serving on the church staff, she provided family counselling and in addition, established her private counselling practice, Care Counselling Service, working from her home in Richmond.

She was a person of deep faith in Christ, a caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother and made a deep and loving impression on her family and those with whom she interacted during her lifetime.

Her life and faith will be remembered in a Celebration of Life at First Church of the Nazarene, 998 East 19th Ave. Vancouver, Friday, January 26, 2024 at 2 pm.

Joy’s family wish to offer their gratitude and thanks to the caring staff of Deltaview Habilitation Centre for the love, attention and compassion shown to Joy over the past seven years of her illness.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association of BC or First Church of the Nazarene, Vancouver.

We are grateful for the kind services of Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser St. Vancouver.
