Late Kristi Sharon Johnston - ‘KJ’

It is with great sadness we advise that Kristi Sharon Johnston passed away in her home in North Vancouver on Saturday September 5, 2026. Kristi was born to her parents, Andrea Elizabeth Baker (nee Bob) and Curtis Herman Johnston in North Vancouver on March 6, 1986. She grew up in Eslha7an, Mission Indian Reserve No. 1 on 1st Steet and at the Condo’s, and at Xwemulchstn’, Capilano IR No. 5. She attended Capilano Nursery, Norgate Community, Carson Graham Secondary, Keith Lynn and Sutherland High Schools. In her early years and into her teens Kristi was a champion Fancy Shawl Dancer and attended pow wows throughout the province and into the United States at the Gathering of Nations in New Mexico. Kristi practiced spiritual healing, always smiling and laughing she shared so much positive energy. She enjoyed Lilo and Stich, WWF – Stone Cold Steve Austin, BC Lions Football, Canucks Hockey, shopping, shoes, movies and music – she loved to dance.

Kristi is survived by her partner of 7 years Gordon James Gerow; son Joral William Travis Johnston (Anna); mother Andrea Elizabeth Baker (nee Bob); father Curtis Herman Johnston; grandparents Sheran Ann Miranda (Bernard), Larry Joseph Bob ‘Lucky’, Lila May Johnston (nee Lewis); siblings Travis David Bob, Kurt Joseph Bernard Johnston, William Fredrick Andrew Baker (Alexandra), Joel William Marvin Baker, Janis Catherine Campbell; nieces & nephews Tiana, Andy, Travis Jr., Amante, Angelo Abigail, Amelia, Kain, Txayusm, Royce, Raziel, Zaiya, Amaya, Mason, Mateo, Mareya, Alayla, and Ayilem; special family Keith Nahanee Sr., Mark Antone, Keith Jr., Riannon and Kanani Nahanee; special sisters Monique Joseph, Mary Joseph, Sabrina Bob and Edie Baker; In-laws Margretta Garow and family; and many loving relatives and dear friends.
