With profound sorrow we announce, on the morning of September 1, 2019, Larry Lee, a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in Burnaby, BC. He is deeply missed by his beloved wife of 61 years, Kathy, his 8 children; John (Madeline), Vivian (Andy), Vera (James), Wayne (Dawn), Darlene (Edward), Ken (Adriana), Angela (Dave) and Eleanor (Carlton) and his 16 loving grandchildren; Brian, Alan, Connor, Samantha, Annika, Jordan, Stuart, Courtney, Avery, Lauren, Matthew, Christopher, Danielle, Maxwell, Cameron and Kendra.
Larry was born on June 1, 1932 in China in the village of Hoi Ping, Guangzhou Province. He immigrated to Canada at 16 years of age. It was here that he married his best friend and love of his life Kathy in 1958, laying the foundation for large extended family and successful business ventures.
Larry possessed an incredible entrepreneurial spirit combined with a strong work ethic which resulted in many business achievements. He was a leader, mentor and an inspiration to us all. But he’ll be best remembered for his kind, easy-going manner, his quick smile, sense of humour and generous heart. His best times were spent taking vacations with his children and grandchildren in sunny, warm destinations, playing weekly mah-jong games with his life-long friends and enjoying gatherings with the Lee Family clan. Ever humble but strong and content, Larry led a very quiet and simple life surrounded by love, support and many friendships. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
