Marion passed away peacefully in the comfort of her family’s love - her children Allison (Eugene), Steven, David (Cynthia), Naomi (Joe) and grandchildren Katrina, Lara, Douglas, Brandon, Kevin, and Ethan.
Born in Steveston, the family moved to Prince Rupert before being interned in Slocan during the war. Driven by her compassion and experiences during internment, she later moved to the Lower Mainland to pursue a nursing career where she met her future husband. In 1965, Marion married Kaz and together they shared 59 blissful years of marriage, raising four children and travelling the world. In later years, Marion enjoyed golfing in the Country Meadows Ladies League, showcasing her creative talents at Christmas Craft fairs and spending time with her family and friends.
Marion is predeceased by husband (Kazuo), father (Takeshi), mother (Fusako), brother (Kiyoshi) and sisters (Kay and Grayce). She is survived by her brother-in-law, Pete, with whom she was grateful to remain close after Grayce’s passing.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Timothy Teoh, the BC Cancer Agency (Vancouver), Terraces on 7th and the medical professionals who helped Marion throughout her lifetime. The family is deeply appreciative of the kindness and support shown by relatives and friends.
In keeping with Marion’s wishes, a small private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PALS Autism Society (https://palsautismschool.ca/tribute-giving/ located at 101 Third Street, New Westminster, BC V3L 2P9) or a charity of your choice.
