
Marion Roberta Brown was born to Eleanor and Alexander Sim on November 21, 1917, in Grenfell, Saskatchewan. She was the oldest of nine children.
After graduating from high school, Marion trained as a Registered Nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. Delayed by a year due to a lung infection that resulted in a stay at Tranquille Sanatorium in Kamloops. Marion graduated as a Registered Nurse as part of the Class of 1941.
Marion worked at St. Paul’s Hospital where she met her husband, Robert (Bob) Brown when he was a patient for appendicitis. They married in March 12, 1945. Together they had two daughters, Colleen Roberta and Diana Lynne.
Marion loved taking care of her home and flower gardens. She enjoyed baking sweet things to share with others. Marion had a strong faith and was an active member of the Amaranth’s Dogwood Court #3 and in her church, Grace Baptist Community Church.
Marion saw many changes in the world in her 104 years. Her fighting spirit and determination kept her on this earthly plane until the Lord finally called her home. Marion passed away in the early morning of August 18, 2022.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Stepney (Ernie), Diana Samchuck (Rick), three grandchildren, Robert Stepney (Nicole), Michael Stepney, Samantha Stepney (Phonz), three great grandchildren, Bradley Stepney, Seth Stepney, Nicholas Stepney, and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Brown and her eight siblings.
The Memorial is at 1 p.m. on September 9th, 2022 at Grace Baptist Community Church, 6825 Kerr St. Vancouver, B.C..
