Marjorie, commonly known as Joyce, was born in Dropmore, Manitoba in the Shellmouth District, the fourth of five daughters born to Nellie Caroline Dennett and William Garfield Burrell.
Predeceased by her Husband, Steve, after 38 years of marriage in 1986, and her 4 sisters; Dolly, Mollie,
Reenie, and Dorothy, along with all of Steve's 10 brothers and sisters. She was the last of a proud generation.
ln 1960, together with her husband Steve, she moved from Winnipeg with sons Gary and Barry, and daughter
Carol.
Moving to 34th Ave. in Kerrisdale in 1960 was a daunting task but they managed to keep everything together
and Glenn was born in 1963.
A homemaker for all of her married life, she managed a brief career at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft during the
War years in the production of Trainer aircraft, and later at T. Eatons Department store, before meeting Steve at the
local roller skating rink and getting married, living on Arnold Avenue, just off of Osborne Ave. in Winnipeg.
Dearly, she loved her children and theirs, Gary, Barry (Helen), Carol (Les), and Glenn (Yuko), and her grandchildren; Graham and Kirsten (Barry & Helen), Jordan and Leaa (Carol & Les). Also dear to her heart was her first born niece, Diane (Reenie).
A stay at home Mom, she lived a simple family life enjoying foremost her family and friends, dancing, ice skating at Kerrisdale Arena and knitting.
Roast beef dinners on Sundays, and the world's best apple pie, books, music, going for long walks, and those
ballgames at Elm Park!
We will miss you, Joycie!
