Mary Burnett Hart Dopson

Mary Burnett Hart Dopson ( Pitts) was born on September 28,1918 in Longtown, Scotland.

She passed away on January 15, 2024 - age 105 - from natural causes and with loving care at Blenheim Lodge, Vancouver.

Mary was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame (age 100) and the Manitoba Athletics Hall of Fame (age 105) - a pioneer for Canadian women in sports.

She was a Master Knitter, Scottish Country Dancer - Volunteer of the Year 2014 in Kerrisdale Community Centre.

She is predeceased by her mother, father, sister, niece, husband plus many Winnipeg neighbours and friends.

Mary will be remembered as an inspiration to all for her quiet demeanor and sense of humour.

A Life Well Lived was held in Mary's honor on January 27th, with family and friends, at the Kerrisdale Seniors Centre.
