Born on July 30, 1995, to his loving parents, Saiarun and Nelson, Mathew grew up to be a kind-hearted, caring, and deeply loved person whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him.
Mathew graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in 2019 with a diploma in Business Management. He went on to build a career in supply chain and logistics, working in various roles throughout the field.
Those who knew Mathew will remember him not only for his kindness, but also for his incredible sense of humour. He was always ready with a joke and had a way of making people laugh, even when they least expected it. His ability to bring joy to the people around him was one of the many qualities that made him so special.
Mathew had a deep passion for volleyball. He loved playing the sport and, just as importantly, loved being part of the volleyball community. He generously volunteered his time coaching, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others and helping those around him grow.
More recently, Mathew discovered a new passion in golf. What began as another hobby was quickly becoming something he truly enjoyed. He was beginning to fall in love with the game, and his enthusiasm for learning, improving, and enjoying time on the course was unmistakably Mathew.
Above all, Mathew will be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious humour, his generosity, and the love he had for his family and those close to him. The memories he created and the lives he touched will remain with us forever.
Mathew is survived by his loving parents, Nelson and Saiarun; his brother, Michael; his beloved partner, Beka; and many extended family members, friends, teammates, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
Though his time with us was far too short, Mathew leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and moments that will be cherished forever.
A celebration of life service will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home on Friday, September 25th at 11am, followed by a burial at Mountain View Cemetery.
Forever loved. Forever remembered.
