Matthew, lovingly nicknamed Ma-ju, was born December 16th, 1984, in Vancouver BC. He suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in his home at the age of 39 on May 29th, 2024.
Predeceased by his father Ron Wallace, paternal and maternal grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins. Matthew is survived by his mother Elizabeth Harper, his sister Crystal Harper, nephew Anthony Jewell, brother in law Jamie Jewell and Marvin Ashley along with numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
Matthew grew up in Vancouver and attended Britannia school where he met many of his life long friends. He was kind and generous, and even though he didn’t have much to give he was the kind of guy to literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it .
He also had a playful and slightly mischievous side in which he loved to laugh and play tricks on his friends and family. Laughing was something he truly enjoyed. Matthew also loved spending time at home with his family where he lived with his parents Ron and Liz, his sister Crystal and her husband Jamie and their son Anthony.
One of his love languages was the sharing of food. He loved taking those he cared for out to new places to try new dishes and have new experiences. Instead of gifting material things he liked to take his loved ones out to spend quality time together.
Matthew was such a caring person, whenever someone fell ill he would always be right there checking in to see if anything was needed, such as a cup of tea or just to sit with you.
Matthew was a beloved son, loving brother and devoted uncle, he will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
