Meropi Kyrvitsakis

With deep sorrow we announce that our loving mother and grandmother has left us to join her husband Leonidas as of June 2. Her presence will be greatly missed. She was 90 years old. Born in Deliana Chania Crete July 23 1935 . She immigrated to Canada where she met and married our father Leonidas and had three children.

She enjoyed her early years working as a seamstress which continued for many years. She loved her garden, her flowers, growing her vegetables and cooking. Always made sure that anyone who came to visit left with a full stomach and sometimes a goody bag. She loved her walks and visits to the beach and was always ready to go. She is lovingly survived by her children Vasiliki, Pantelis and Michael. Her grandchildren Maria (Petros) and Nicole as well as two great grandchildren (Vagia and Gianni), her brother Emmanuel (Betty), her sister Olga and her brother Niko as well and nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral will be on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4500 Arbutus Street, Vancouver. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Burnaby. A special thanks goes to all staff at Arbutus Care for their loving care of our mother. In lieu of flowers we will have a donation box at the church and all proceeds to go the Heart and Stoke foundation.
