It is with great sorrow and heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother Olga.
In the early morning hours of September 13th, 2026, her beautiful spirit left us, far too soon, and she now joins her mother and father in heaven.
A devoted wife, mother and daughter, Olga will be remembered for her strength, kindness and the endless care of her family which she nurtured with love, patience and support.
Olga was born in Xirokambi, Laconia, Greece on November 21st, 1961, the only child to Petros and Christina. The family moved to Vancouver in 1964 to join her mother’s brother, sister and their families. She spent her life and attended school in Kitsilano where she made many lifelong friends. In 1986, she met the love of her life, Dimitri, while living in Greece. They married in 1988 and moved to Vancouver shortly after, where they shared their years together raising their daughter Christina. Olga loved large family gatherings where sharing food, music, dancing and laughter made for countless joyful memories. She enjoyed many afternoons drinking a frappe at her favourite cafe on Broadway with Dimitri and Christina where they were joined by friends. She delighted in taking Christina to her favourite music concerts in Vancouver, Vegas and Seattle through the years.
Olga shared a unique bond with Christina that went well beyond a mother and daughter relationship. It was a bond grounded in a deep friendship that made them inseparable. She will be an angel watching over her precious girl for eternity.
Olga will be deeply missed by her loving husband and daughter, her cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Our love for her will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
Echo By Christina Rossetti
Come to me in the silence of the night;
Come in the speaking silence of a dream;
Come with soft rounded cheeks and eyes as bright
As sunlight on a stream;
Come back in tears,
O memory, hope, love of finished years.
O dream how sweet, too sweet, too bitter sweet,
Whose wakening should have been in Paradise,
Where souls brimfull of love abide and meet;
Where thirsting longing eyes
Watch the slow door
That opening, letting in, lets out no more.
Yet come to me in dreams, that I may live
My very life again though cold in death:
Come back to me in dreams, that I may give
Pulse for pulse, breath for breath:
Speak low, lean low
As long ago, my love, how long ago.
