Patricia Madeline Scouras was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 8, 1937 and passed away peacefully at her home on January 26, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her son Jim (Tanya), and daughters Andrea and Lisa (Eric). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Alec, Tristan, James, Mia, Zoé and Eva as well as her brother Richard (Jan) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by the love of her life George in 2016, as well as by her siblings Cathy, Bob, and Shirley, and by her parents Nicholas and Lily.
Pat was born and raised in Winnipeg where she worked as a utility clerk supervisor in a bank after high school, and was active in her community. She spent many happy days at her family cabin in Sandy Hook on Lake Winnipeg just outside Gimli, Manitoba. She had countless fond memories of spending time at that cabin both through her formative years and with her own young family after getting married. In 1956, she met George Scouras at a friend’s wedding and her life changed forever. Pat and George were married on March 17, 1966, had their first child Jim shortly thereafter, followed by Andrea before moving to Vancouver in 1969, where Lisa was born. In Vancouver, George went on to open the “Olympia Pizza” with the Kerasiotis brothers. In 1976 Pat and George, moved to farm friendly Langley, BC and built their dream home. This city girl from Winnipeg bought into the love of having a hobby dream farm, with an assortment of sheep, goats, chickens, and llama over the years. Pat lived in her and George’s forever home in Langley for 50 years until her passing. She loved working outside in both her vegetable and flower gardens or just sitting outside in the sun with George. Pat was a talented, intelligent and very warm person who was the leader and heart center for her family. She was always someone who you could go to for a sounding board for life problems, a quick laugh, or just to get a warm hug. Whether working in her gardens, participating in the PTA for her children’s schools, teaching Sunday school, working at the Olympia Pizza restaurant in Surrey, or travelling extensively with George and her family, Pat always had an easy smile and laugh, and was a good listener. Pat was a rare life force in that she was an extremely kind and generous person who took real joy in the simple but important things in life. Pat was also passionate about reading, current events, cooking, hockey, knitting, grandchildren and her chickens. She faced major life health challenges several times with grace and practicality and somehow came out stronger and more resilient on the other side. We are comforted that she is once again with her love George, who we know has been patiently waiting for her to join him. She will be forever missed by those that loved her.
Patricia will be laid to rest on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:30 a.m with a Funeral service at St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4500 Arbutus Street, Vancouver.
