

Pearl was born in Hoi Ping, Guangdong, China and moved to Hong Kong in 1955 where she attended high school. Pearl married Ken Sun Man Chow in 1959 and immigrated to Canada in 1960 to Quesnel, BC. Together, they built a loving family and created a home filled with warmth and devotion to their children. In Quesnel, they co-owned the New Nugget Restaurant until they retired and moved to Vancouver in 1992.
Pearl is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ken, her beloved children, Joyce Ingram (Chow), son-in-law Bob, Steven, daughter-in-law Kluane and youngest daughter Linda, cherished grandchildren, Connor, Carson, Jared and Kirsten. She leaves behind her younger brothers Siu-Cho (Sau Lan Luk), Tony (Sue), Patrick (Susan) who reside in Ontario including her nieces and nephews. Sisters-in-law, Jane Wong (Charlie), Carolyn Lentini (Tony), brother-in-law Kwok Leung and nephew Derrick Choy who will always remember her with love and gratitude. Pearl is predeceased by her parents, sister Debbie, and granddaughter Megan.
Pearl retired and moved to Vancouver with Ken in 1992. She quickly immersed herself into the community, creating enduring friendships. Pearl loved Tai Chi and normally could be found at Queen Elizabeth Park amongst friends. Afterwards, they would all go out for lunch and play mahjong.
Volunteering and belonging to S.U.C.C.E.S.S. enabled her to impact those in the community. She loved to sing in a choir and take dancing lessons. Pearl also loved to travel with friends and family, and visited Eastern Canada, throughout the USA, and back to Asia twice including her birthplace.
Her legacy of love, resilience, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. Pearl was known for her kindness, generosity, compassion and empathy as well as unwavering devotion to her family.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC. A memorial service to celebrate Pearl’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on August 23, 2024 at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, followed by refreshments in the Tea Room of Hamilton Harron.

The family appreciates and would like to thank all the medical professionals including the haematology staff at Vancouver General Hospital and Dogwood Lodge Hospice.
She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
