Percy Hon On Ngai, 57, was granted his angel wings on July 21st 2020 after a brave battle against illnesses. His final moments were spent surrounded by family and close friends that Percy has touched in small ways during his short, yet memorable life.
Percy’s life was one that holds countless happy memories. It may seem too short to many, but his quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time. He loved like no other and brought endless joy to family and even strangers.
All those who loved and cared for Percy will remember his generous and giving nature. He was either found with his family or in his garden. He loved to seek out rare seeds and plants. In short, gardening was his life’s passion. Percy will be dearly missed, but cherished memories will live on forever in our hearts.
He was predeceased by his parents, Kin Ngai and Hau Lan Hon; his sister, Linda Ngai; and his two brothers Hon Chow Ngai and Hon Wah Ngai. Percy is survived by his wife, Reddy Lok; his two daughters, Yannis Ngai and Keona Ngai; and his two dogs, Mukmuk and Miga. His last wish was for everyone to be happy.
We want to thank the amazing staff and nurses at the Salvation Rotary Hospice and the staff and nurses of the palliative unit at the Richmond Hospital. These individuals did everything to allow Percy to rest peacefully.
As per Percy’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Before he passed, he wanted to thank everyone for giving him a life to remember and for you for being a part of it.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Percy’s memory to the Salvation Army Rotary Hospice House (salvationarmy.ca) or the Richmond Hospital are greatly appreciated.
“If you’re happy, I’m happy.” -Percy Ngai
