Peter Franz Hofer

19 October, 1933 – 2 August, 2024
IN THE CARE OF

Hamilton Harron Funeral Home

Peter Hofer, was born in Salzburg Austria, he had 2 sisters, Edda and Elfie and a younger brother, Dieter. He came to Canada at 26 and was working as a pharmacist when he met his first wife Lorine in Vancouver who had a young daughter, Tina.

After a serious auto accident, he and Lorine moved to Austria to be with his family. There they had 2 boys, Peter jnr. and Gerhart. Peter and Lorine separated after about 8 years together and she returned to Canada with the kids. A few years later, Peter also returned to Canada to be near his boys.

Peter started a new career in construction and grew the business from scratch. He proved to be an excellent sales and businessman, he had great foresight and determination. He then met Patricia and they soon married. After growing his business to a successful construction management company with Patricia working alongside him doing the bookkeeping, he retired in his late 50’s.

He loved sports, playing handball as a young man and later excelling at golf. He met many friends and truly enjoyed his time golfing on many different courses. He and Patricia really enjoyed entertaining as well as travelling and often went to Hawaii, Palm Springs and Austria among other places.

Peter was a wonderful husband and father and dearly loved his family. He always wanted to know how all his children and grandchildren were doing. It was very special that he got to meet his first great grandson Bowen last year at his birthday luncheon, they had such a sweet natural bond together.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 47 years, Patricia, his 2 boys, Peter (Tanya) and Gerhart. His grandchildren Tamar (Madison), Tasha (Tristan) Tiana, Tyrah (Neil) and Bowen. His sister Edda (Larry) and all of the extended family in the US and Austria. He was predeceased by his stepdaughter Tina and his younger brother Dieter.
