Born in North Vancouver, BC in 1962 and transplanted to the southern States when still a boy, Pete became the Canadian who grew up American. For the most part Pete lived in Texas and became a skilled electrician whose work took him all over the country. A born traveller, Pete loved the open road whether for work or for pleasure. An avid outdoorsman and lover of nature, Pete would tour the country from North to South. Pete loved maps, learning about geography and had a particular love of Provincial and State Parks. From camping in Jasper to exploring the Florida natural springs, Pete was an expert in North American geography.
Pete was a throwback. Not one to jump on board with technology, Pete would walk to the corner store each morning to buy a newspaper, scour over the sports statistics and pen letters to his friends he had accumulated across the land. While Pete always kept an eye on his beloved Texan football teams, he also had an appreciation for whatever was going on for local sports and became a fan of whoever the local team was. With an excitable and enthusiastic personality delivered with his southern drawl Pete was well liked wherever he went.
But his adventurous spirit also led him down some less desirable paths and Pete had a tendency for hanging with the wrong crowd and finding trouble. His easy charm and positive nature always made it seem things would work out, but in the end life in general caught up to him and he passed suddenly at the age of 54 within 25 kms of the hospital he was born in.
A believer in Jesus, Pete has gone home to his Lord. And as God may have orchestrated it Himself, Pete connected with family members, spent time with loved ones and worked on his dream of moving to Belize all in the last days of his life, without knowing it would soon be over.
Pete is survived by his mother Sybil Lindsay, his sister Claire Sansaricq both from Texas, his sister Karrie Leppig, nephew Tyler and niece Sami from Florida. He was pre-deceased by his father David Lindsay. Pete was cremated in Vancouver and will be sent to Texas where he will find his rest in Austin, his favorite place on earth.
