Peter was born in Mansoura, Egypt on May 25, 1931 to John and Fani Lambrou Skoros and he passed away July 18, 2018 in North Vancouver, Canada.
He is survived by his loving wife Maria of 42 years, sister-in-law Soula Katsuris and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
He lived in Greece with his family during World War II and spent time in Austria following the War. He joined the Merchant Marines in his teen years. He eventually immigrated to Canada followed by several years in the United States.
Peter’s affable demeanor brought him success in his chosen profession as a Bartender. While in Vancouver he worked at the Hotel Georgia and in San Francisco he worked at the Top of the Mark and the Gold Dust Lounge. Upon his return to Canada he was at L’Apres Restaurant at Whistler.
Following his marriage, he took an active part in the revitalization and growth of the first phase of Whistler Village where he and Maria owned and operated Peter’s Underground Restaurant for several years until they decided to retire to their home in North Vancouver.
Peter’s wry sense of humor and proclivity to translate Greek to some situations will be missed by those who loved him
“cha-cha-cha” Peter.
