OBITUARY

Robert Bunt Sengara

18 March, 1959 – 9 February, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Hamilton Harron Funeral Home

It is with deep sadness that we announce that our husband and father, Robert Bunt Sengara, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 7, 2026.

Robert was predeceased by his father Bunta, mother Puge, sister Sandy and step father Werner.

Robert was born on March 18, 1959 in Vancouver. He graduated from Vancouver College and went on to pursue his education at the University of Miami and the University of California. He was definitely fond of being close to the sea but none too fond of being in it.

His adult life was spent in the service and support of his own wife and family as well as his extended family through his dedication to the success and growth of the family business Sen Western Wholesale Lumber. He was proud of what he accomplished often pointing out to his children as they drove around Vancouver the various building that had been built with Sen Western Lumber. He took great satisfaction that he had played a part in helping Vancouver grow into the city that it has become today.

Robert took great satisfaction in his personal residence, which was designed by his step father Werner Forster. He took joy in living in a house that was created by someone that he held so dear. He and his wife Jenny took the canvas that Werner created by using their exceptional skills as gardeners to create a backyard garden reminiscent of their travels in Italy. It was an oasis fit for a magazine cover.

Robert also found enjoyment in travel, cooking, history, art, music and horses. It was through horses that he first met his wife Jenny when they both attended Little Pioneers Horse camp as eleven and thirteen year olds. Rob continued to ride in his adult life on the beaches of Hawaii, Mexico and Carmel as well as in Merritt with both Family and friends. Never did a city slicker like him manage to make riding look so smooth and fashionable.

Rob’s quick wit and humour will be remembered by those who had the good luck to spend time with him.

He is survived by his wife Jenny, his sons Ryan and Jordan and a large extended family in Vancouver and Victoria.

A private farewell has taken place as requested by Rob.
