Surjan Singh Pannu

He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his devoted wife of 54 years.

Surjan was born on July 24, 1943, in Macau, into a family of seven children. He was predeceased by his parents and all six of his siblings.

He was raised and educated in Hong Kong. At the age of 28, he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, where he built a life through hard work, determination, and quiet perseverance. He began his career as an accounting clerk with Mazda Canada while simultaneously studying at the University of British Columbia to earn his ACCA professional accounting designation. Upon completing his studies, he continued his career with the same company, where he worked for 36 years.

Surjan possessed an extraordinary memory that often amazed his colleagues, friends, and family. He was admired not only for his remarkable recall but also for his sharp intellect, thoughtful nature, and gentle sense of humour.

Those who knew Surjan will remember him for his warmth, patience, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering integrity. He had a calm and generous spirit, and his quiet presence brought comfort to those around him. He leaves behind countless treasured memories that will continue to bring both laughter and solace to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A private service will be held in Vancouver on July 25, 2026.

Family and friends are invited to honour Surjan's memory by sharing a favourite story, raising a glass in his honour, or simply spending time with those they love.
