I am Mrs Crudo's sister. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my sister's passing.It was a shock to all of us . She was 49 when she passed.Thank you for your kind thoughts. She is missed and loved every single day.

Mrs. Crudo...she was my teacher at Graham Bruce. I'm shocked to hear about her passing- I happen to randomly see this page after doing a search on my Elementary School out of boredom lol- she was my teacher when I was in Grade 2, I'm obviously a lot  older now. Anyhow, sort of in shock about this sad news. I would imagine, Mrs. Crudo, was still fairly young...I would like to extend my deepest condolences to all her close family & friends. Nicola, dear sweet girl, your tribute is so touching and right on.  Your mother was so special and is still special as she lives on in you and your sister. Your father will have you both as links to his beloved Tina. Hard to believe a year has passed since the tragedy of losing Tina. Everyone misses her so much in different ways and for different reasons.  What is constant is the heartache of her absence.  Many times on the bus to work going up MacKenzie I would see her very early in the morning walking the dog, now when I see Christina walking the dog, I vision your mom walking right beside her. I still light a candle for you every week and you are in our special intention book at church, my dear friend, Tina.  Gone are the times that we shared and our families shared but in our hearts you are always there.  Our book of memories are never closed and you are missed more than anyone knows.
Good times were had and we shared alot. The trip to the Great Wall was only one.  Our life does go on, as we cant stop the clock, but its just not the same without your smile and friendship.  We still miss you but we will never forget you. love always  Margaret Chantal and Ashley.

A year has come and gone.
You told me "don't be sad, life will go on without me"....well unfortunately it has, but it will never again be the same. 
I can still hear your laughter and see you bright smile when I close my eyes.....memories that will never leave me, memories that I hold dear to my heart.
I keep my exterior strong to not upset the family...but my heart crumbles every time I think of you.
We grew up together and took it for granted that we would grow old together, but you were taken from us far too early, something none of us saw coming.
And you were a fighter right till the end, brave and positive living each day to the fullest instead of having a pity party...and I never heard you complain....not even once.
I would come over to see you and you had baked muffins & banana bread...making sure to take care of me.
A part of you lives within me, making me proud to say we were cousins and I'm sorry to say that I still weep for you, but I will carry you in my heart always and forever.
I love you, I miss you and I will carry your memory forever with me in my broken heart.

The way she used to sing me to sleep in that still familiar tune, how she used to tickle my back whenever I asked even at age 18, the endless number of walks we've gone on together, all her arts and crafts and creativity throughout the years, her seemingly endless energy-always on the go even through the toughest times, how we used to watch movies then dance to the music played during the credits-I was sometimes shy but she would pick me up or hold my hands while she swayed her hips and giggled as I tried to pretend her dancing wasn't cool though I secretly loved it, her hilarious cow costume she wore to hand out candy on Halloween, our common love for muffins especially the raspberry oatmeal ones from capers, travelling to Greece together when I was 14, decorating the house during every season accompanied by festive activities and music, family holidays and traditions, the nights spent together  in my room after I got myself into trouble through my teen angst years, her timeless storytelling and unforgettable facial expressions, and most of all, her sincere voice and contagious laughter that would make me smile even if I didn't want to. 
I could continue to list our memories for the rest of my life because I've realized that every second that I got to spend with my mom was a blessing in disguise. Although our time was limited, I have learned more from my mom than even she could comprehend. She's passed on her strength and guidance and with that I know I'll be ok.

When I was little she showed me a song, I now know it as "our song" and every time I hear the lyrics I am always reminded of the never ending kindness that radiated from her.  Before she left us she told me “To follow my dreams and never give up, and that there is no such thing as being to quirky.” I miss you mom, and I always will.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so upsetting to know that we will not see Tina untill our lives go out. I wish that doctors at least had a cure before she left. Tina was such a great person. I miss you Tina :(

Tina was the bestest little sister, the greatest friend,and the most loving aunt. We supported each other in life and work. Tina and I were fortunate to be in the unique situation as sisters, to not only work together at the same school but to also share the same classroom.I use the term 'share' loosely as Tina ,by far, was often the one carrying the load.She was an incredible teaching partner. We often joked about how she was the one who laid the foundation and I was the one who breezed in and stirred it all up!! Despite the odd mess,we were a good team! Tina loved to share the story of how we could confuse the heck out of substitute teachers in our school.They couldn't quite figure us out.In the staffroom,they would watch in horror as  I would nonchalantly help myself to bits of Tina's lunch, rifle through her purse without asking, straighten up her bangs or even suggest she should go and 'rouge up' a little before the bell rang and generally, just be my  bossy older sister self.It wasn't until they learned we were sisters that the look of shock would melt from their face.
  Tina was dedicated and passionate about her job as a teacher. She was warm,open,enthusiastic,always smiling,creative,and genuinely cared for each and every one of her students. She never refused to help anyone-a student, a parent or a fellow teacher.I know that in the last year and a half she truly missed being in the classroom and working with the staff at Kerrisdale Annex.Tina loved the companionship and all the laughs.
  Tina was always such a hard worker and always there for her family and friends. She was a great listener, reliable, and offered advice and support.Our relationship was effortless and had a great ryhthym. In our family we could have drama and argue one minute,and then brush it off the next.Tina was by far the most forgiving.For years Tina and I enjoyed walks along the beach,practicing yoga, and most recently ,meditation.It was a beautiful way to spend time together and I will miss these quiet times with my sister.
  There are other things I will miss about Tina as well. Her wacky sense of timing ,listening to her say  "Oh My Goddd", helping her look for her keys or reminding her that she forgot something,again, at my house,as well as  her finicky meal orders in restaurants. I will miss sitting beside her in a movie theater and having to tell her to stop asking so many questions...it was annoying but endearing...such a Tina-ism!I will miss Tina grabbing my arm and practically bringing me down at the sight of a scary dog. I will miss telling her how graceful her hands are and how she has the  prettiest feet.I will miss suggesting she  buy shorter skirts so that she can flaunt those sexy legs of hers.But most of all, I will miss hearing that infectious and heartfelt laugh that followed everyone of my silly stories or goofy jokes.....she was by far , my #1 fan.

Although I didn't know Tina as well as her brother and my fiend Kostas, having only met her a few times that I visited Vancouver and Greece, it didn't take long to realize what kind of a person she was... caring, intelligent, funny, full of life and energy and, most importantly, a good mother, wife, daughter and sister. She left a great impression on me and I will remember her like the time I last saw her: laughing, kind and warm-hearted. May your soul rest in peace with God Tina, and may your spirit guide and give strength to your children, husband, mom, sisters and brother as they move forward in their lives.

My BEAUTIFUL Auntie Tina,

I love you so much. Thank you for all the time you gave me. I feel there was a reason greater than our knowing for why we moved so close to you Uncle Frank, Nikki and CC. You opened your home to me as if it was my own. I was there daily and still am and I thank you so so much for making me feel a part of the family. We're still walking, we're walking a lot and I know you're there with us. You were my friend, a second mum, and an aunt to me. We've shared so many great moments there isn't a big enough page to reflect on them. You were there for me in some of the hardest moments of my life and with your love and support I got through them. You were a rock for my mum when she needed someone in ways I couldn't be, and I couldn't be more grateful.  The friendship I saw between you and my mum was something so incredible and I feel it was the mold for me and Nikki's strong bond. You were the person I wanted to come to the moment I had great news or something to share and you were the person I wanted to come to when my heart hurt. I loved how we would burst out laughing for no reason at all; it was just a sense of comfort between us. The last couple of weeks together I will always hold dear to my heart, you're my hero and my motivation to follow my dreams and to fight for what I believe in. I love you Auntie T, I can't wait until we meet again. I know it will start with a hug and continue with hysterical laughter and lead into a walk or a great movie. Extending deepest sympathy & condolences for you & your 2 daughters in your loss. And hoping too, that comfort and peace may come to you. Tina was at one time my teacher, years ago when she first started, and she will always be remembered for her kind uplifting spirit & positive smiles. Family was apparently important to her as she was always trying to keep in contact with me through email - sending family Christmas photos & such. She will be sadly missed, yet happily remembered.

I was deeply saddened when I heard that Tina had passed away. I am very sorry for your loss, Frank and her daughters, her brother and her sisters, and everyone else. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

Before I share a few things about Tina with you today, I would like to extend my humble appreciation and many thanks for the support my family has received from the community, Tina's friends, Tina's family and my family, without which Nicola, Christina and I would have had great difficulty in getting through these last two years and most certainly these last few weeks.  I would also like to thank Dr. Micheal Riesling who was instrumental in assisting us with the task of bringing Tina home and ensuring her comfort while she spent her last few days surrounded by family and friends.
Abraham Lincoln once said “It's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years”.
If this is true, then Tina has succeeded in living every minute to its fullest by spreading her happiness to all those she touched. Tina was one of the most caring and giving people that I have ever known. And I know that if I asked all that knew Tina what they remembered most about her the resounding response would be how she always put the needs of other's ahead of her own. Judging from the number of people who came to pay their respects yesterday and today, it is apparent that many of you would agree.
Tina was born Constandina Christopoulos on October 13th, 1962 in Patra, Greece. This fact always brings a smile to my face because I used to joke with her that she was my little FOB.  For those of you who are not familiar with this term, the term stands for “Fresh off Boat” and refers to an individual who has just recently immigrated to our country.  The two of us would break out in hysterical laughter whenever I would call her that.  Funny the little things that bring you joy in your life.
I would like to share a few things that Tina has left me with and that I am grateful for:    
• She has left me with two beautiful children, Nicola and Christina which remind me so much of their mother, one with her constant laughter and giggling, the other with her strong silent type organizational skills and smile;
• She has left me with a strong sense of family and those traditions that have been established with our children which will continue to live as long as we do;
• She has left me a fantastic network of friends that loved her dearly and have offered endless help from the day she was diagnosed with cancer;
• She has left me and my family a place in our community with her work ethic and stellar history as a teacher in the community she lived in;
• She has left me with the drive to always chase our dreams, a theme that she was always expressing to our girls and believed to the fullest; 
• She has left me with the lasting memory of her brilliant smile which was her trade mark, always smiling regardless of any difficulty, and her infectious laugh which brought great joy to all who had the pleasure of witnessing it;
• She has left me the memory of how affectionate she was and how she used to hug and kiss me and my daughters endlessly and with such joy
I asked my two daughters what was the thing they remembered most about mom and they replied that her hugs were special as well as her soft southing voice and how she used to make them feel good when she spoke.  
I too, have so many good memories of and with Tina, Dancing in our bed room to the music she loved to listen to, watching her help our daughter Christina with homework at the kitchen table, listening to her tell me about a movie she had seen the night before, the walks along the beach, how she used to talk to her dog Lucy, and listening to her read to both our children when putting them to bed.  
Tina was a remarkably thoughtful and loving person. She was a person of great character and devotion to family and friends.  Tina believed in the power of family and the family unit.  She always said “we need to comfort, love and protect each other”.  These are words that I will always remember.
I would like to share a poem with you at this time:

I am so very proud and grateful to have been part of Tina's life where she gave me two beautiful daughters who will carry on her legacy as proudly as can be.
Tina, my dear wife, we are all going to miss you, but I know you are now resting and at peace.  Although it is difficult to accept this at this time, I know that time will change my perspective on this.  Rest now honey and we will be reunited again one day.

To My Beloved Sister Tina -

On behalf of my mother and the entire family, I would like to thank all of you for joining us today as we remember our beloved Tina who was taken from us far too early last Monday night on January 23rd.   

Tina was the youngest of my three older sisters and we share the same name of Kostantinos and being only 27 months apart in age … we grew up becoming very close to one another -- creating a very special bond of love between two siblings.  I can not find enough words to adequately describe or express how much she meant to me and my family and I can't image my life without her. She was my rock and always there for me when I needed to talk to someone …. and we all know Tina loved to talk. 

I remember so many times we would be on the phone only to realize that hours had passed like there were minutes. I would call her house and the phone was always busy and I knew Tina was on the phone. Frank and I would always tease her for being a chatter box and her relentless appetite to converse with loved ones and friends. 

So many wonderful words have been posted for Tina by her friends and family and I would like to share a few with you:
 
• Tina, I will always remember your beautiful smile, infectious laugh and your passion and enthusiasm for teaching. I will miss you.

• I am a better person for having known you Tina, you will forever be in my heart. Your children and all you have taught them is your legacy... your compassion, caring and love of others; even in your most difficult days will forever live on...You have taught all of us so very much....
 
• Your smile was infectious; it will forever be with all that were touched by you and your goodness and pure heart.

• Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same." love you always..

• I admired Tina Crudo for her strength of character, what an amazing teacher, parent and friend she was. I will continue to be inspired by the actions she took and the things she said while she was alive. She will always live in my memories.

• May God rest your soul my beautiful friend. My life will never be the same without you.

• Tina your candle will always burn brightly in my heart & in the numerous memories I have with you. You were a lifelong & special friend who will always be remembered. Love you always.

• A beautiful human being with a heart of gold has passed away. In her untimely passing, the world is a poorer place for those whose lives had been touched by Tina


One of Tina's many amazing qualities was her selflessness … you would think that she would have been bitter or tired of seeing her little brother being spoiled while growing up -- creating some animosity between us … but it was the exact opposite…. I felt her enduring love throughout my life when we were together and apart… she was always looking out for her younger brother.

Tina was and will always be an amazing role model for her daughters Nicola and Christina along with our family and to so many children she touched over her twenty-five years of teaching. Tina was truly gifted and was born to be a teacher for all of us. 

I was always impressed when I would see her interact with students who she taught over the years … and to see them as adults get excited when they would see her was so beautiful and inspiring.

 
A few years back at a movie theater, we bumped into one of her past students from Grade 2, who was now in university. He said hello Mrs. Crudo and Tina almost instantly remembered who he was, even though he was a young adult now …. he was blown away by this and said that she was the best teacher he ever had and that he was not surprised that she recognized him.

I said to Tina after …. that you have the most gratifying job because you have the ability to impact and change someone's life for the better….and she told me that is why she loves teaching and she would never want to do anything else.  

I feel blessed by god that my two girls have had a chance to live and be impacted by their favorite auntie Tina … and while they will no longer spend weekends with her or go on trips to Whistler, Seattle, Greece or Hawaii -- they will always remember that they had a beautiful aunt who loved them unconditionally and that she will always be our guardian angel. 

Tina told me before she become very ill that she wanted us all to be strong and enjoy life as she would have … 

She is now resting with her father peacefully and I know that one day we will all be reunited … and until then, her loving and warm spirit will live on stronger than ever in all of us who were blessed with her presence.

I will miss you so much my beautiful sister Tina….and will forever love you.
