It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Jung Lit Yee on May 22, 2026.

Tom is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Katy; his children, Gerri (Andre), Joanie (Stan), and Warren (Yuki); and his cherished grandsons, Kai, Liam, and Kalen.

Born in China, Tom touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. After graduating from Killarney Secondary School, he attended the University of British Columbia, where he earned a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He went on to become the first Chinese Canadian probation officer with British Columbia's Attorney General's Office. During a distinguished 31-year career, Tom dedicated himself to helping others find their way, offering guidance, compassion, and unwavering support.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Tom was a pillar of community spirit. For decades, he passionately organized and ran Friday Night Hockey, a labor of love that reflected his dedication to bringing people together through sport, friendship, and camaraderie.

Tom was known for his quick wit, warm smile, and remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. He enjoyed many pursuits throughout his life, including hockey, golf, baseball, and fishing. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his family, especially his beloved grandsons, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Tom's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or St. Paul's Foundation in Tom's memory, honoring his lifelong commitment to helping others and making a positive difference in the world.

A Funeral Service will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC, V5L1T3, CA, on June 12, 2026 at 12:00 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Ocean View Cemetery, 3883 Rumble St, Burnaby, BC, V5J 1Z5, CA, on June 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
