

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William Yui Pui Chan, who left us on January 30, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on June 19, 1952 in Hong Kong, William was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
William was predeceased by his wife How Ching Chan and is lovingly remembered by his son Maurice and his wife Josephreen and daughter Cherie, his grandchildren Lucas William and Erika Anita. He is also survived by his Mother Lee Sui Kam, his sisters Chan Pui Yee, Chan Suk Yee, Chan Bik Kwan and brother Chan Yui Wang, as well as many nieces, nephews other family and many friends.
William was known for his unwavering generosity and his deep love for family. He was a constant source of support, always ready to lend a hand, offer a kind word, or share a laugh. His home was always open, and he took great joy in gathering with loved ones, cooking meals that brought people together. His culinary talents were a highlight of family gatherings, with his delicious dishes becoming a cherished part of many memories.
In addition to his love for family and cooking, William had a passion for the outdoors. He found peace and joy in fishing, spending countless hours by the water, always with a story to tell about the one that got away. He was also an avid sports fan, eagerly following his favorite teams and never missing a game.
William's kindness, sense of humor, and vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments that will never be forgotten.
A visitation will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, located at 1835 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC, V5L1T3, on February 14, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 15, 2025, from 10:00 am.
A committal service will follow at West Coast Crematorium, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC, V5G3M1, on February 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm
