The world became a better place the day Willis Charles Henry Hunt came into it August the 1st 1985 in Masset Haida Gwaii. Willis is Haida/Tsimshian from his Mother Sunni Hunts side and Kwakwakiiwa from his late father Stan hunt 2nd.
He is Survived by his: mother Sunni Hunt, Sister's Chani Beynon, her two sons Marcus and Keiran; his other sister Raven and her two children Rochelle and Jeremy, & His grandfather, Stan Hunt the first. Will is also survived by aunt's, uncle's, cousin's and too many extended family to name.
He went to Brittania for most of his school life, making many life long friends & then going on into the carpentry business.
He spent his life right here in East Van and some say Will WAS east van.
His past times were cooking for family and friends and eating out at favorite restruants. He loved doing outdoor activities such as camping & bringing friends together. He was passionate about his fitness. He recently took his first real vacation to thailand and he loved it, making friends there too and was looking forward to returning. Willis had many great qualities. he was a social butterfly & loyal to family and friends. (To his older sister Chani, he was her rock.) He had a wonderful spirit and was one of the most positive people you would want to know and had good dreams for the future. As a child he would tell his mother, "Mom, someday when I grow up I'm going to buy you a home" caring as he was even into adult hood. I will miss our talks and dreams for the future. Espeically, the "I love you ma's." His positive out look on life was contagious. You could see his dreams and catch it. He never judged but encouraged. The younger generation looked up to him, because he spent time with them playing tennis and other sports & working out as well.
He was a BIG brother to them encouraging them to live a healthy life, work out, be peaceful and be good to each other. Those who knew Will loved him. He was a good son, a good brother, a good uncle, a good cousin and a great friend. He was the lighthouse in the storms of Life teaching each of us to live a full and good life, giving hugs so freely. So let's be that lighthouse that Will was for the younger generation.
Those who knew Will loved him and will miss him forever.
Wills life was taken by a senseless tragedy but we must remember how he chose to strive for the best in life. I pray that we can honor him because Will seen all the good things that could happen in this earth & u know that he would only want the best for each of u.
To all his friends & family far and wide, let's honor his life by remembering the golden nuggets of wisdom and encouragement that Will gave to us.
Chani:
Rochelle: "He was my favourite goggy. He was fun to be around abd always had good energy".
Jeremy: Uncle Will was always there for me when no one else was. I always looked up to him.
A poem from Willis
"Forever my time, all stars shine telling u to come & bring the ruckus.
You can try but you won't take me down.
I'm standing on my ground as all the fear inside me fades away.
You can try & get a reaction but you r no distraction to me.
Bring the ruckus to me.
Manafest- bring the ruckus
