Wing Nuen Louie passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He is survived by his wife, Po Kum; son, Gordon (Carol); daughters, Wendy (Simon) and Roxanne (Marc); son, Gary (Mary); and his 11 grandchildren.
Born in Toishan, Guangdong, China, Wing immigrated to Canada in the 1950s in search of a better life. He dedicated his career to the BC Ferry Corporation until his retirement in 1997. Wing enjoyed gardening and both he and Po Kum were a familiar sight in his neighborhood, often seen walking Gary and Mary’s dog, Marley.
A funeral service will be held on February 28, 2025, at 12:30 PM at GlenHaven Chapel, 1835 E Hastings St, Vancouver. Burial will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated healthcare staff and doctors at Vancouver General Hospital, where Wing spent the last three months.
