Won Mui Tam 譚楊蘊梅

(August 21, 1932-November 23, 2024)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom Mrs. Tam Won Mui (nee Yeung), at the age of 92. She peacefully departed this life on November 23rd, 2024 at the Vancouver General Hospital. A cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she touched the hearts of many.

Born in Guangzhou, China on August 21, 1932 to the late Mr. Yeung Man Fong and Ms. Wong Po Lin, mom was the fourth of nine children. She married the love of her life Mr. Tam Kwan Tou. This union was blessed with three children: Kin (Pamela), May (Victor), Alex (Vivien). She and our father founded The Jenny Kindergarten establishments in Hong Kong and as a young entrepreneur, she made significant impact providing early childhood education as its Headmaster.

In 1968, our family migrated to Vancouver where shortly after, our father passed away in 1975. Raising her children as a single parent from the age of 43, Mom devoted her life to nurturing her family. Mom instilled the values of kindness, integrity, education, hard work, and unconditional love. Mom was a woman of incredible strength, resourcefulness, and resilience. Always putting others first, she made countless sacrifices. She will always be remembered for her beautiful and radiant smile, unwavering devotion to her family, boundless generosity, genuine spirit, and her warm and compassionate kind heart.

Her life and legacy will forever be remembered and celebrated by us and her grandchildren – Michael (Tori), Christie, Marcus, Matthew (Sabrina), Colin, Russell and Mitchell – as well as her devoted sisters, family members, friends and all the lives she touched.

A visitation will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, located at 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC, V5W 2Z1, on December 13, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 15, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am

The graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC, V5G 4A5, on December 15, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

A reception hosted by the family will follow at: Red Star Seafood Restaurant 8928 Granville Street, Vancouver

我們摯愛的母親譚楊蘊梅於2024年11月23日在溫哥華全科醫院與世長辭，享年九十二歲。母親於1932年8月21日出生於中國廣州，是楊文訪先生和黃寶蓮女士九子女中排行第四。母親和她生命中的摯愛譚鈞濤先生結婚後，在香港共同創辦了「真理幼稚園」並擔任校長一職，積極為幼兒教育作出貢獻。夫婦二人育有三名子女：建儀（媳婦素媛）、美儀（女婿志明）、建中（媳婦苡芸）。

在1968年舉家移民溫哥華 。父親不幸在1975年英年早逝。她憑著驚人毅力和不朽精神，偉大地獨力撫養孩子，作出了無數的犧牲，將我們教育成才。母親時常教導我們要向善，有誠信、勤奮和好學。母親一生樂於助人，尤其是對兄弟姐妹和朋友，她總是把別人放在首位，重情重義。她美麗而燦爛的微笑、對家庭無私的愛和奉獻、對朋友慷慨真摯的精神，將永遠被大家懐念。而她的教導和信念深深影響後人，子女和七名孫兒女們：榮鈞 (孫媳婦寶天)、慧施、 漢鈞、 天鈞 (孫媳婦樂儀)、 偉倫、 智鈞和仁鈞，將銘記於心、繼續傳承下去。
