周寳賢 Bo Yin Chow

May 29, 1945 – September 14, 2026

It is with loving memory that we announce the passing of Bo Yin Chow, née Chung (鍾寶賢), on September 14, 2026, in Burnaby, British Columbia.

After a brief battle with lung cancer, Bo Yin passed away peacefully, listening to her favourite songs and surrounded by her family.

She was the epitome of a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Victor; her daughters, Jennifer (Alan) and Wannie; and her grandchildren, Emily and Charlotte. Bo Yin was predeceased by her parents, as well as her older sister and her younger brother. She leaves behind her older brother, her youngest brother, and her two younger sisters, who will miss her deeply.

Bo Yin was born in China in 1945 and later moved to Hong Kong. After elementary school, she attended and boarded at Tung Lin Kok Yuen (東蓮覺苑), a Buddhist school, so that she could continue her education. She went on to graduate from Hong Kong Chu Hai College (香港珠海學院) and was given the opportunity to come to Vancouver as a private tutor. Despite knowing little English, she left her family and friends in Hong Kong and embarked on an adventure to Canada. There, she would meet her future husband and go on to have two daughters.

In Canada, her life and her focus revolved around our family. She nourished us with her love and care in every way she could: through the most nutritious food, the best hygiene, the most organized schedules, and the safest environment, all so that we could thrive. She extended that same love and care to her son-in-law and her beloved grandchildren.

She filled our family with so much love and light. We will miss her more than words can express, but her love and devotion remain with us—in the memories we carry, the stories we tell, and the many ways she shaped who we are.

A private service for immediate family will be held at Vancouver Memorial and Crematorium.
