Gloria Gay Wyche

Gloria Wyche of Brush Prairie, WA passed away on Feb. 28, 2011 peacefully at home with loved ones around her. She was born in Walthill, Nebraska on Jan. 10, 1937 to Bertha and Robert Frahm. In July of 1937 the family moved to Vancouver. She attended Vancouver Schools and graduated from Vancouver High School in 1954. On August 7, 1953 she married Bill Wyche. She and Bill spent many fun years at their cabin in Long Beach, WA together. They were snow-birds in later years, traveling south in their trailer, and making many good friends. Gloria enjoyed many years of tole painting, and teaching friends and family. She has made many longtime friends that continued to meet monthly over the years. She was a member of “Raindrops”, a tole painting group form Portland. She also was a quilter like her mother. Gloria is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill Wyche, daughter; Robin Ortega, son; Bret Wyche, grandson; Noah Ortega and his wife Katie, sister; Roberta Harris and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and two older sisters. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 pm in Vancouver Funeral Chapel 110 E. 12th St. Vancouver, WA.
