I knew Al Barnes and his sister Ellie. Al was resourceful around the house. He constantly had an improvement project going that he’d show me the results of. Al was very helpful to me as well, lending tools or other assistance when needed. 

On occasion, my wife and I would take Ellie and Al out to dinner at Liverocks. After one of the dinners, we went to Al’s house and he showed me his room that was decorated 50s style with hotrods and all the trappings of that time. I could see how proud he was when he talked about each important piece.
