Dave and his family moved to Maryland and then Delaware in his younger years. He graduated from Brown Vocational High School in 1963 and began a 4 year apprenticeship at the DuPont Experimental Station in Wilmington. He entered into Granite Lodge #34, AF&AM in 1968, and Scottish Rite Valley of Wilmington; later on he became a Nur Shriners at a private ceremony on the edge of the Grand Canyon when he lived in Arizona.
In 1970 Dave and his family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he became a member of IBEW #728. As work slowed down in Florida, Dave went on the road to work and eventually bought an RV and the family began traveling. Their plan was to head to Washington State, but they stopped in Arizona where Dave worked on several nuclear power houses. They settled there for almost ten years, then headed back to Delaware. He and Helen both went back to work for DuPont, from which they both retired. They headed back to Florida, this time on the west coast and settled in Englewood.
Dave had many hobbies: drag racing in his younger years, bowling, trap/skeet shooting, fishing, hunting, golf and line dancing. He and the children took taekwondo lessons together in Delaware where they all earned black belts.
Dave is survived by Helen, his wife of 59 years, daughter Cynthia Morse Martone (Angela, Dominic), daughter-in-law Melissa (Ronnie), twin brother Nathaniel Church Morse, Jr., Patti (Stacy, Wendy). He is also predeceased by his son, David Scott Morse and two sisters, Mary Anne and Susan.
Services will be held on April 23, 2026 at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, De 19808. Visitation at 1:30 followed by services at 2:00
