Donna Reynolds Duke

Passed away on January 27, 2025 at Cadbury Park Memory Care-Jacaranda Trace where she was lovingly cared for these past 4 years.

Born 1929 in Austin, MN. Her family moved to Memphis, TN. In 1932 where they enjoyed life on a small farm. After graduating Messick High School Donna received a scholarship to Mississippi State College for Women. She later returned home to attend Memphis State College where she met and fell in love with an upperclassman and Air Force veteran, Bill Duke. They married in 1949 and had 2 children. In 1958 a business transfer took them to Miami, FL and again in 1961 to Ft. Myers. In 1971 they relocated to Englewood, FL where Bill founded the W.R. Duke Insurance Agency. They were members of Englewood United Methodist Church where Donna led bible studies and participated in many mission projects. She continued her teaching degree by mentoring young students.

After her husband's retirement, they moved to Brevard, NC where they enjoyed mountain life, traveling and perfecting their golf and tennis as members of Connestee Falls Golf and Country Club. They loved entertaining visiting family and friends.

Due to health reasons, they returned to Florida and built a home in Venice. During that time, they attended Christ United Methodist Church ( now Christ Venice Church) and found great comfort in that congregation as well.

Donna was a precious gift to her family and all who benefited from her selfless manner and gracious ways. She accepted her difficult final years with courage and dignity.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill of 57 years and son, Randy Duke. Donna is survived by daughter, Debra Berg and son-in-law Skip Berg of Venice, grandson Brandon Duke, wife Andrea and great grandchildren, Tyler, Mia, Chase and Jaxson of Windermere and Orlando, FL and granddaughter, Jennifer Hill and husband Brian of Ranger, GA. Donna's resting place will be with her husband and son at Englewood UMC Memorial Garden. No public service is planned.
