

Edward was born on April 28, 1952, and raised in Riverside, New Jersey. He was the son of Matthew Brogan and Barbara (Gould) Brogan, who later resided in Venice, Florida. Edward graduated from Riverside High School and went on to attend Burlington County College (now Rowan College at Burlington County) in Burlington, New Jersey.
Edward proudly served his community and was a longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary 3020 in Riverside, New Jersey, as well as the North Port Moose Lodge 764 in Florida. He was also a proud member of Teamsters Local 107. An avid sports fan, Edward was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles supporter. He held LIC seats and followed the Eagles to nearly every NFL stadium across the country. He also enjoyed managing multiple fantasy football leagues and closely followed Phillies baseball and NASCAR.
Edward enjoyed staying active and social and especially loved traveling. One of his favorite adventures included a two-month stay in Europe, visiting Italy and Greece. He also traveled to Spain, Portugal, and many other countries. He enjoyed cruising, skiing, playing in Englewood Senior Softball, and spending time with family and friends.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Colleen (King) Brogan, whom he married on August 25, 2023. He was previously married for 43 years to Billie Jean (Newton) Brogan, who preceded him in death in 2019.
He is also survived by his son, Eddie Brogan and daughter-in-law Christine, of North East, Maryland, and his cherished grandson, Bryce Brogan.
Edward leaves behind his siblings: Donna Brogan Avery of Riverside, New Jersey; Michael (Linda) Brogan of Boyne City, Michigan; John (Kay) Brogan of North Port, Florida; and Matthew (Judy) Brogan of Venice, Florida.
In addition, he is survived by his stepchildren: Allen (Stacy) Zang of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania; Jessica (Clayton) Dowling of Kittanning, Pennsylvania; and Hunter King of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania; along with many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 24, at 11:30 a.m. at the Elks Lodge in Englewood, Florida. Light refreshments will be served.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward’s memory to Englewood Senior Softball, an organization he enjoyed and supported.

Edward will be remembered for his passion for sports, love of travel, loyalty to family and friends, and his enjoyment of life’s adventures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
