

Harvey was born on February 22, 1944, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Harvey Sr. and Norma (Cultice) Houser. He attended William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Harvey proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Specialist 5 (SP5). Following his service, he lived a life grounded in faith and community. He was an active and devoted member of Englewood Bible Church, where he participated in numerous mission trips around the world, sharing his compassion and dedication to helping others.
Harvey had a love for the open road and especially enjoyed riding his three-wheeled trike, embracing both adventure and freedom.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Sr., and his mother, Norma.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen (Bolton) Houser; his brother, Brian (Martha) Hoeppner; his children, Patricia Houser, Michael Houser, and Michele (Robert) Crabtree; and his cherished grandchildren, Leanne, Elijah, and Sean, who brought him immense joy. He will be deeply missed as his family anticipates the birth of his great-grandchild this coming summer.
An interment service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:30, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241. If you plan to attend the interment service, please plan on arriving 30 minutes early to be directed to the procession line. Immediately following at 2:00pm, a Celebration of Life will take place at Kays-Ponger, Uselton & Lemon Bay Funeral Home, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, Florida 34293, officiated by Pastor Tony Fiore.
