Jack McCarthy, a jubilant character who embraced life with an enthusiasm, slipped unexpectedly into the great beyond on February 12th. Born in 1937 in Crestline, Ohio, his infectious enthusiasm and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In his early years, he served in the army as a missile radio operator, a testament to his commitment to serving his country. Throughout his life, Jack was known for his entrepreneurial spirit and his ability to excel in various endeavors. He was truly a "jack of all trades”. His diverse skills and ventures added layers to the rich tapestry of his 87 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Eva (Piper) McCarthy; siblings, James, Robert, Richard, Patricia, Mary, and Dorothy; children, Tamara Orendorff and Roger McCarthy; his beloved wife of 37 years, Candace (McCulloh) McCarthy.
Jack is survived by his children Eddie (Mary) Orendorff, Becky (Bradley) Snyder, Tina Ream, Jack (Dina) McCarthy Jr., Joe (Michelle) McCarthy and Kelly (Monica) Curtis, all of whom he loved very much and was proud of their accomplishments. He is also remembered fondly by his 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the:
