Jay was born in Bristol, Colorado to Palmer and Eyllofey Pendergraft on February 26, 1947. He was self employed, running truck routes for the US Postal Service until he retired to care for his wife, Caroline, who passed away in September of 2020. He loved working on his classic cars, fixing stuff others had given up on, and whenever he got the chance when they were younger, showing his grandkids that he could still do just about anything.
Jay is survived by his daughter, Kerrie Fountain (and her husband Darin); his step sons, Thomas Suchocki (and his wife Michelle), Mike Rose, and Joseph Rose; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his sister Palma Heede; three nieces; three grandnephews; one grandniece; and two great grandnieces. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
