

A resident of Englewood, FL, June passed away on April 4th at the age of 100. Born in Malden, MA, she moved to Plaistow, NH where she met and married Frank R. Currier, Jr. in 1941. She was a dance instructor, specializing in tap dancing, and danced with Bill “Bojangles” Robinson in Boston.
After WWII, June and Frank moved to Guilderland, NY and raised 2 children. There June taught ceramics and pottery in an adult education program, and ran a successful ceramics business for 22 years, while Frank was employed by General Electric as a budget forecaster. Upon Frank’s retirement from GE they became winter residents of Florida, living first in Spring Hill and then in Englewood.
June and Frank purchased a cottage in West Yarmouth, on Cape Cod, MA in 1957, which became known as “My Nana’s House”. One of her favorite places on Earth, June spent many happy summers there until 2016, when she could no longer drive.
June was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 75 years, and a member of the Englewood Chapter since 1987. She served as District Deputy Grand Matron of New York in 1986.
June leaves her sister Jacquelyn Hill of Hudson, FL, her son Gregory (and Joyce) Currier of Chittenango, NY, her daughter Heidi Currier Ferris (and Toby Teller) of Upton, MA, her grandchildren Stephen (and Karen) Currier, Andrew (and Melissa) Currier, and Susan (and Aaron) Smith, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY, at a later date.
