Kent Bruce Lyons

It is with profound sadness the family of Kent Lyons passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 11 2024, at the age of 75. Kent was predeceased by his Father, Walter Lyons and Mother Ruth Lyons (Leslie). Kent is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sherry(Curran), Daughters Lynn and son in law David Guitar. His daughter Jillian Lyons and his much adored grandchildren, his 6 pack, Tyler, Autumn, Grace, Damien, Aiden and Alissa. Brothers Les (Kathy) Lyons Wade (Monica) Lyons Steve (Cindee)Lyons, Sisters Laura (Millen) Nixon ,Amy Lyons Barnard honorary daughter Bridget Holst many nieces and nephews and very special nephew Chris (Ann) Lyons.

Loving in laws, Jerry Curran (Roleigh), John (Faye) Curran, Shelia Ingersoll, David (Nancy) Curran, Peter Curran, Miriam (Kevin) Ruff and niece Rachel (Josh) Goff.

Kent was a proud 28 year veteran of the Army National Guard. He retired in 1995 and pursued a college degree and became a recruiter for Washington County Community College as his second career. He retired from the college in 2010 and worked as a substitute teacher with the Calais Elementary school system and loved working with all the children. Kent retired for the final time in 2013 and he and Sherry moved to florida where they enjoyed life to the fullest.

Kent was loved by many friends Eric Macdonald (Jodi), Mike and Darlene Horne, Chris and Vee Horne, Vaughn Pottle, David and Jana Pottle, Tom and Cathy Kelly, James Clark ,Neil and Debbie Rodgers, Bill and Sue Cassidy and too many more to list.

Plans for a celebration of Kents life will be next summer in Maine. Date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers Kents family ask for donations to Washington Community College, American/Canadian Cancer Society or your local Veterans Affairs Bureau, 3 causes that were important to Kent.
