Michael James Gittings, Senior passed away on Sunday, February 13th 2022. In his 60 years of life, he traveled all over the world and made fast friends with everyone he met along the way. Mike was intelligent, thoughtful, innovative, creative, hard-working, stubborn, and most of all–funny. He was married to the love of his life, Bunny, for 37 years. They lived together in Moorestown, NJ and briefly in San Jose, CA, before settling into retirement at the beach in Englewood, FL. Mike worked for decades in the semiconductor industry, starting as an electrical engineer and ending his career as a Vice President in marketing and sales. In his free time, Mike loved to work on home improvement projects, listen to music, and learn about history. He had seemingly endless energy for others. He was the kind of person to take a red-eye from Japan, stop in Seattle for a day to hike a mountain with his daughter while wearing dress shoes, and then take another red-eye back home. He was truly exceptional in more ways than can be written and will be deeply missed by all who knew him (even by his wife’s cats, that he supposedly didn’t care for but cuddled with anyway). He is survived by his wife, Bunny, his kids Michael and Tori, his parents, Claire and Mike, and his siblings, Lyn, Dan, and Bill.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Mike’s memory to one of two organizations that greatly helped him throughout his fight with GBM. These organizations are: The American Brain Tumor Association & Tidewell Hospice Center.
